Healing through art therapy at St. John's Mercy

Words are often inadequate to express the many emotions created by a cancer diagnosis. Art can be a powerful tool for adults and children coping with cancer. Creating art can encourage individuals to "tell their story" of struggle, frustration, anger, peace and healing.

The David C. Pratt Cancer Center, together with regional artists and the St. John's Mercy Medical Center Auxiliary, offers free Healing Though the Arts workshops to allow patients and their families and friends to creatively express their experiences.

Held on Saturdays throughout the year, the workshops give participants an opportunity to experience the arts first hand, in a variety of media. Supplies are provided at no charge. Class size is limited. For information about upcoming workshops, click here or call 314-251-6400.
