In the 37-bed Cancer Center Inpatient Unit, care is provided for adult medical, surgical, gynecologic and radiation oncology patients. An interdisciplinary team, consisting of nurses, physicians, care coordinators, pharmacists and a chaplain, specializes in meeting the needs of patients with cancer and their families. The team members work closely with the Cancer Information Center, Palliative Care and St. John's Mercy Health Hospice staff to provide comprehensive care that incorporates medical treatment, education and support.
Catering to Patients and Families
Special attention is paid to make patients and family members comfortable during a hospital stay. In addition to the semi-private and private rooms in the unit, you will find a Family Room complete with a refrigerator and TV, and a Reflection Room designed for relaxation, giving patients and their families a chance to re-energize.
Integrative Care
As a complement to conventional medical treatment, St. John's oncology unit offers the services of a healing touch practitioner for the integration of the body, mind and spirit to promote wholeness on all levels.
